"As a good Block Deputy you should be able to back up and fill in for your Block Leader whenever called upon. A good Block Deputy should be able to take over in case the Block Leader is gone unexpectedly meaning you will be responsible for learning everything you can to prepare yourself for this should it be needed. This will also prepare you for moving into higher positions should you desire it. Upon completion of your training you should understand the tools, know how to use them & what your limitations are in regards to the use of the tools. Try them out and have fun.

As Block Deputy you are responsible for the health of your block. You do this by making sure all of the following is done:

Keeping those above you informed of what is going on

Helping residents & new comers with any problems they may have. Remember you may be the first person they meet so make a good impression.

Recruiting residents

Planning & assisting with block and hood actives.

Yours is one of the most important jobs in CT. You are the backbone of the hood, meaning everything you do and say directly affects all those you work with and for. You are the first person a resident will turn to for whatever needs they may have. You will help fill the hood with residents. You will generate ideas for activities, which will increase activity for your block. You will train others on how to navigate and get the most from CT.

Your actions and words will show others what our hood is like and about. Remember, You are a role model! Everything you do and say directly affects others. Do not ever take that responsibility lightly. Upon accepting this position you also agreed to conduct yourself & represent your Block, Hood, Colony & Cybertown with Honor, Respect, & Dignity.

As a BD you may find you have also been hired because of special skills you possess which means you will have a special responsibility to your block. Always be ready to share your talent, skills, and knowledge with others. CT is a place for people to learn, grow, and become the person they know they can be as well as have fun. • Check the following information on each house in the block:
• House Name
• Resident Name
• Immigration Date
• Last Access
• Home Page if there is one listed
• Whether the house has a Image
• Meet and Greet New Residents either in Person by Message in their Message Box
• Provide New Comers with training
• Recruit New Residents
• Participate in Activities
• Submit ideas for Block Activities
• Repost Messages from the Message Boards of fellow Colonies
• Provide Support for the BL and ND
• Take on extra Duties as needed.
• Communicate with the BL, ND and NL
• Assist in Block Maintenance
• Report problems
• Assist residents in making cool Message Boards and Inboxes for their houses
• Assist with new Projects
• Encourage residents to set their Inboxes and Message Boards to accept HTML
• Encourage everyone to upload an Image (max size 15kb)
• Post messages in Resident's house when asked
• Inform others how to apply for jobs in your Neighborhood
• Know and understand the Constitution
• Know the Neighborhood guidelines

You must learn it all to be a good Block Leader. Your Block Deputy's should be able to take over in case you have to be gone unexpectedly, so ensure your BD's have the best training possible. Upon completion of your training you should understand the your new tools and how to use them.

As Block Leader you are responsible for the entire block. It is your domain, you are in control. If you don't know HTML ask an ND for help with your Message Board or hire an HTML Wizard BD to help you out.

It is exciting to be your own boss but it carries a price. You are responsible for the health and maintenance of the block, so if you have lazy Bd’s or no Bd’s then you must do their jobs until you get some. You must keep check on your BD's to ensure they are doing their jobs. If they don't know how to do something you must teach them. Always be polite regardless the situation.

You are in a Leadership position meaning you exemplify everything CT stands for. You are a role model whom others look up to and depend on. Everything you do and say directly affects others. Do not ever take that responsibility lightly. Upon accepting this position you also agreed to conduct yourself & represent yourself with Honor, Respect, & Dignity thereby bringing Pride to the Block, Hood, Colony & Cybertown. You are directly answerable to your ND, SND, and NL in that order. You are directly responsible for up to 8 BD's and up to 30 or more Residents. This is from the moment you log on to the moment you log off; you are a leader and a role model. Have fun doing your job but always bare in mind eyes are on YOU!

• Assist the BD's, ND's and NL Staff in any way possible
• Read Block and Hood Message boards everyday - so you can re post any information to our block.
• Block Leaders are expected to hire their own people and do not need the prior approval of NL or ND's. However, EVERY BD MUST HAVE A SECURITY CHECK DONE BEFORE BEING PUT IN ACCESS. please fill out a Security Request Form and WAIT for a answer in your inbox before you but the person in ACCESS (failure to do so can result in you no longer holding a job in Games)
• Reports to be in by between midnight Thursday & midnight Friday ct time unless the NL states otherwise.
• The BL's are asked to clean their message boards at least weekly. No posts older than 30 days should be there unless given permission to keep it by the ND or NL.
• Keep Block Clean and Organized
• Attend any meetings or perform any function handed down from the ND's, or NL.
• You must coordinate closely with you ND and BD's on such everything and keep them informed at all times!
• Must attend at least 1 of the "all staff" meetings every month, failure to do so will be seen as a failure to perform your job function, unless prior notification is given. Even with prior notification however, failure to appear 2 months in a row will result in replacement.
• You should always pass on new ideas to the NL/ND's where ever they come from. New comers give new ideas.
• Keep AT LEAST one block event ongoing at all times. There should always be something going on even if it is just in the planning stage!!

Being a Neighborhood Deputy can be one of the most rewarding Jobs you will ever have in CT. A good ND holds both leadership skills and natural people skills. You are a role model, teacher, student and player. Your job as ND is kind of like being in the middle of a huge chain, you’re a link between the NL and the BLs and Bd’s. Your job will consist of many duties ranging from hiring a BD to rebuilding boards to helping the NL in whatever he or she needs all the while helping your BLs and your Bd’s.

Here in Games we have many different kinds of ND's. Grid ND's that over see grids such as A, B, C and so on. They work one on one with the BL’s and BD's on the Grid to build up the blocks. They hire and train and do all the everyday work needed to assist the BL.

The other type of ND’s we have are "Special Task ND" these ND's hold a very specific job. That can range from a Public Relations ND that acts as a sort of "Motivation Specialist" (cheerleader) or a Tech ND that help build and maintain all the boards, maps and other Tech needs. In Games we have a double Senior Neighborhood Deputy (SND) system instead of just having one SND.

Together with the NL these two provide the direction and guidance for our hood. They act as stand-ins whenever the NL is unavailable. The Events SND runs hood Events and helps with block and grid Events. The Hiring and Training SND oversees hiring and training of all staff. We also have a type of ND called an inspection ND. This person goes through each house in each bock every other week to ensure each and everyone is doing their job.

The results of his inspections are given only to the SND and the NL. This Data is them compiled and sent to the CL each month. All ND work as a team with other ND, BL, BD, and the NL. ND play a HUGE role in a hoods success. A break in the link anywhere can cause a bad chain reaction and thus a hood that is not well kept and fun. ND's are leader, teachers, enforcers and role models. I wish you luck, as being ND it will truly be a learning experience where you will learn some very good skills useful not only here but in life itself.
